NEWS:

With a $2.2 billion capital construction program and a Board of Trustees committed to innovation and sustainability, the Los Angeles Community College District is on the cutting edge of technology and sustainable practices in the facilities arena.  Geographic information systems, animated 3D building “fly-throughs,” computer-assisted facilities management, energy self-generation, automated inventory management, bulk procurement, and other innovative practices are now in the vocabulary at LACCD.  Larry Eisenberg, Executive Director of Facilities Planning and Development for LACCD, will provide a look into the future of facilities management - LACCD style.

The LACCD's sustainability practices and dedication to green building has been recognized by numerous institutions, including the U.S. Green Buildings Council, Global Green USA and Flex Your Power.  In April 2006, the District dedicated its first LEED™-certified sustainable building on the campus of Los Angeles Valley College.
